Tenaska Wind Farm progressing with hopes of completion in December

The first turbines are appearing at the Tenaska Clear Creek Energy Center. The wind farm will include 111 turbines across approximately 30,000 acres in northwest Missouri near the Iowa-Missouri border. Project Manager with Tenaska, Ryan Showqet, says the construction phases are in progress.

"In the last few weeks, we've had some crews that started working in May start to complete their phase of construction.  We have other crews that over the next month will finish their phase.  We also have other crews - particularly the delivery crew and the erection crew - that has just started in the last few weeks.  We now have 18 turbines on site and six turbines that are erected."

Showqet adds their goal is to have all of the turbines completed by the end of December. He also adds that with the installation process progressing and harvest season approaching soon, traffic will be heavier in these areas.

"We do want everybody to be cautious of the workers.  We will brief the delivery crews to watch out for trucks.  But we would ask the public to have patience and keep the workers' safety in mind as they're driving down the roads."
